A northeast to southwest line of thunderstorms is located west of Detroit and moving east at around 40 km/h and will likely be near the international border by 2 pm EDT. Some of the storms in this line may be capable of producing wind gusts to 90 km/h.
Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Stay indoors when a thunderstorm strikes. There isn't a place outside that is safe during a thunderstorm. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.
Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio.
